Amsive Digital, Inc., an NYC-based high growth digital agency, is looking for an entry-level Finance & Accounting Assistant to support our financial operations division.  A degree in finance or accounting is preferred.

The candidate will work with our Finance Director and COO on financial and operational projects, as well as our business Directors across agency services. This is a highly dynamic role which will evolve over time and requires strong analytical and communication skills, along with the ability to work independently on completion of tasks and projects in a timely manner, with significant attention to detail.

What You’ll Be Doing

The Accounting Assistant will support account analysis, billing, commission preparation, reconciliations, reporting and AP/AR.  Administrative duties will be assigned as needed that are not directly FA related. Ideally, we are looking for someone that is high-energy and able to work in a fast-paced environment. This position will report directly to the Finance Director and the COO, but will work across teams to support critical business functions. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career and looking to grow with a forward-thinking digital ad agency. 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Perform monthly closing tasks and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Support AR / AP and all related activities
  • Maintains general ledger integrity by reconciling various accounts, verifying and correcting data
  • Create, maintain and distribute invoices to clients
  • Data entry responsibilities such as bills, journal entries, bank and credit card transactions
  • Support collections effort and address client inquiries as needed
  • Prepare monthly reports including commission statements, aging, fixed assets, and various ad hoc financial reports as requested
  • Support preparation of reports and publish to internal stakeholders in PowerBi
  • Assist with internal audits of client media campaigns
  • Maintain contract database and files, work within agency CRM Salesforce
  • Monitor and track detail on media spending for accounts and reconciliation
  • Help prepare and administer company payroll
  • Ensure completion of special projects & administrative duties as they are assigned by management
  • Liaise with managerial staff, colleagues and clients

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university; with honors a plus
  • Degree in Accounting and or Finance
  • QuickBooks proficiency or working knowledge
    • Advanced Microsoft office skills (Strong Excel skills a must, including but not limited to, use of intermediate formulas (vlookups, IF/Then), pivot tables, referencing data and filtering.)
  • Must have the highest degree of accuracy with a strong attention to detail
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of financial and accounting concepts/policies
  • Adept at problem-solving independently using online resources
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organization, planning and prioritization
  • Excellent time management skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task, follow through on commitments, meet deadlines and drive results
  • Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced, rapidly changing business environment which requires a flexible and adaptable style
  • A real team player and the ability to communicate at all levels within the organization
  • Strong desire to learn and spirit of cooperation

Nice to have:

  • Microsoft PowerBi experience
  • 1-3 years related work experience
  • Previous experience at a marketing agency
