Turkey Bans YouTube The Turkish crusade again social media continues as the authorities have now blocked YouTube. The court ruled that the government could not block Twitter, so the government has now blocked YouTube after an alleged leaked recording of a security meeting that was posted to the video sharing site. The recording was published anonymously and is said to have revealed a conversation between Turkey’s Foreign Minister, a spy chief, and a top general, discussing how to create “a pretext for a possible Turkish attack with Syria”. The recording was listened to over 140,000 times and appears to have Hakan Fidan, who is the head of the National Intelligence Organization, suggesting a missile assault as “justification for such an incursion”. Pinterest Hacked Multiple Pinterest accounts have been hacked and flooded with spam such as weight loss ads and pictures of women’s behinds. Recently the number of scammers hacking Pinterest has grown as the social platform’s popularity has increased. The Better Business Bureau sent out a scam alert warning telling users to be careful when clicking on pins that don’t seem like the usual content they would see on their friend’s boards. “To keep your account safe and free from unwanted butt pics and other spam, report suspicious pins, be wary about third-party apps, and check destination links before you repin content.” – Tech Crunch Apple to Release New iPhone 6 With 4.7 and 5.5 Inch Screens Japanese news publication Nikkei Today is reporting that Apple plans to release the next generation of iPhones in 4.7 inch and 5.6 inch screens, as soon as September. The display resolution is also expected to increase to keep pixel density high on the new larger screens. Production is reportedly already ramping up with component makers producing fingerprint sensors, LCD driver chips and panels. When Apple put out the iPhone 5 in September 2012, 5 million units were sold in the first 3 days. Do you think the iPhone will perform as well? We shall see.
